Now that Donald Trump has moved into the White House for the second time, Melania Trump has disclosed where her son Barron will be permitted to dwell.
The First Lady talked candidly about her and Barron’s living situation in an interview with Fox News that aired earlier this month (January 13).
Melania clarified that throughout the next four years, she and her son would divide their time between three places: Palm Beach, Florida; New York City; and Washington, DC.
But according to reports, she will make one of the three houses her primary abode.
When asked where she’ll be spending the most time following Donald’s inauguration she revealed, “I will be in the White House. And when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York.”
“When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach. My first priority is to be a mum, to be a First Lady, to be a wife.”
Melania also made a statement regarding whether or not her 18-year-old son would be attending the White House with them.
Barron recently relocated from the family’s Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago estate to New York City, where he is enrolled in the Stern School of Business at New York University.
When Barron began his first year of college, Melania told the same publication in September that he chose to live at Trump Tower, his family’s home in Midtown Manhattan.
However, he will have a room at the White House so that he may ‘come and visit’ whenever he wants, even if he lives in Manhattan.
“Whatever he would like to do,” Melania said. “I feel as children, we have them till they are 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them, and then we give them the wings to fly.”
“I always respect Barron’s yes and no, and what he likes to do, where he would like to be,” she said.
With his mother’s OK, Barron won’t be “living in a dorm” anytime soon, a source told People in December.
“She will do everything she can to make sure Barron does well in school and is socially and mentally adjusted to his life as a college student,” the source explained.
“Living in a dorm in a college town isn’t in the stars for him at this point.”
The source added: “Barron already has his own political ideas. It all needs to be monitored in light of the situation.”
